Podcast

Not satisfied with forcing you all to read our opinions, the Hurlers on the Ditch have found a new way to attack your senses; by recording a podcast.

Taking on the stories we find most interesting from sport, television, film and music, we draw from the best content on HurlersOnTheDitch.ie as well as from all around the media to bring you lively debate and entertaining chat that we hope will make your commute, jog or working day that bit more bearable.

Episode 8

This week, the original Hurlers (minus a still M.I.A John) chat glorious (and not so glorious) last hurrahs in honour of Robbie Keane sailing off into the international sunset. They discuss sports stars who have burst onto the big stage as teenagers only to fade into relative obscurity under the weight of expectation and ask if this current Dublin team are relatable enough to become Hill 16 cult heroes. They also question what Irish provinces can reasonably expect from this rugby season (and if they can make people care again) and finish off with the weekly quiz, on this Sunday’s hurling final

Episode 7

This week’s podcast sees the Hurlers on the Ditch pay tribute to Robbie Keane’s Ireland career  (kind of) before discussing Conor McGregor’s options, inside  and outside of UFC, following his latest win. The lads talk Mayo and that dreaded ‘chokers’ tag and hand out the prestigious HOTD Rio 2016 Awards. They finish up with this week’s quiz, where Graham tests the panels’ knowledge of Premier League winners.

Episode 5

The lads are back in action to discuss the upcoming Olympics, their favourite events to watch and the various doping scandals which have dogged the lead up to the Games. They also chat about the losing battle boxing is fighting to retain popularity over MMA in Ireland and most importantly; Mark Clattenburg’s new tatoos.

Euro 2016 Special

The day you have all been waiting for is finally here! Fair enough, the Euros don’t actually start until tonight, but today is the day for the HOTD Euro 2016 Preview Special. The lads discuss memories of Euros past, do Martin O’Neill’s job for him in picking the Ireland XI for Sweden and finish up with some predictions for the tournament, as well as their best bets to help you make some money.

Episode 2

After a solid start last week, the Hurlers on the Ditch are back. The lads discuss the best and worst sporting events they’ve ever attended, as well as the rising cost of tickets. Also in this episode, they look back at Ireland’s squad from Euro 2012 and debate what might make this year’s squad different. The lads finish up with a chat based on recent stories from the website.

Episode 1

Making their podcasting debut, the lads talk about the toll of professional rugby and if gap years might be coming into vogue. They also discuss their Underperforming Premier League XI, Steph Curry vs Leo Messi and make some bold Championship predictions.
